I Is HappeningYesterday was a weird one.
I had an early appointment scheduled with the Dragon Lady in her office after so long. Finally, she replied me and asked for me to pop by to talk about options. Again.
I can't exactly say any good came out of the discussion. I was stuck there for a good 2.5 hours, even longer than when i first attended an interview with her. Wah laoz.
In a nutshell, i told her what i have finally decided to do, she made me do a test on what kinda person i am (turns out i'm more of an "Ideas" person, followed by "People" then a "Data" one, the 3 in descending order), did an assessment about that, went into a whole lot of dissuasions, and made me wonder if i have made the wrong decision.
Then she threw another option to me, something similar to what i have turned down 2 months ago but with her indepthed clarifications & dissection, i ought to have a renewed faith. She gave me 2 days to think about it, and tomorrow i will have to revert on whether i am up to the challenge. Challenge is an under-rated word, perhaps "Ordeal" would be more apt.
Honestly, a small part of me has been sparked. Deep down, i know there is an element of truth in what she said. I walked out of her room with a really heavy heart; i am tempted to give it a miss but i worry it's the emotions doing the talking.
*pulls hair* Since when making a decision about your career has gotten this tough?!!?
Anyway, after the meeting, i met my insurance agent to go through some documents. Just when i was fretting over what to do alone for the rest of the day after meeting her, since Mo is in his anti-town mode again, i thought i would pop by the salon to get the long overdue haircut so i called to make an appointment. Thanks to Ms Jayel for her recommendation. :)
My insurance agent invited me to lunch with her after the discussion and i thought she was also alone so i agreed, even though i was gonna be late for the haircut appointment. She suggested this place with very famous Oxtail and only halfway to the restaurant, she asked me if i would mind meeting her family as well. -_-'''
Well, it was a little awkward as it seems pretty intrusive of me to just barge in on their family lunch like that, plus the rest have already finished their food when we arrived. Thank goodness her husband was super friendly and he took good care to ensure i was comfortable and he secretly settled the bill when i wasn't noticing. Her daughter and sister-in-law were also there.
Being the unappreciative arse i am, i ordered fish, since i am no oxtail fan. Apparently that place only serves oxtail on Wednesday lunch, the restaurant was so rowdy and bustling despite being hidden away in such an old building. I told Mo it was like a patch of greens in the midst of Sahara desert.
Anyway, after parting with them, i headed towards the train station for my appointment. A recruitment consultant whom i contacted many months ago suddenly rang me out of the blue. She had something in mind for me and wanted to talk to me about options as well. I can't quite come to terms with the coincidence. So amazingly, she called me on the same day i have a meeting with the GM.
After that, I called the hair salon to inform them i was running late, and i bumped into Eryan, a secondary school friend & classmate whom i have not seen for quite a while, so i had a companion on the train ride. :)
The change of hairstyle took a lonnnng time to be done lehhh...I sat there till roots started to form cannnn. I rebonded my hair again la...who cares if it's not in fashion anymore since it has been proven to be the most effective method to tame the wild mane.
Winnie, the hairstylist had a hard time trying to "break the bones" of my hair coz apparently, yours truly have super strong & healthy hair that is very rare for Asians to have, so she has to leave the cream for a much, much longer time as compared to other customers'. -_-''''''
She said out of so many customers, she has only come across 2 with this kind of hair, including me. The other is also a Chinese girl, but hers was more powerful than mine, she had the cream on for 2.5 hours...i had it for about 45 mins.
Strangely, my previous hairstylist did say the same thing too, in fact she asked all her trainees to come see and feel my hair too -_-'''. Thank yew huhhh...I is not lab specimen or Exhibit A cannnnn.
Anyway, I think Winnie is trying to be nice...i think she meant to say i have thick strands of hair. She also exclaimed i have alot of hair, but i told her it is just the size of my head.
I also snipped the longs off this time. Although it's not quite the hairstyle i was lusting for, but it would do for now. I haven't had short hair for the longest time, and to have the hairstyle i wanted, i had to go quite short. I decided not to be so adventurous and stick to the earthly length for now. I is worry Empress Dowager would not let me into the house if she cannot recognise her own daughter lahh.
I met Mo for dinner after he roamed the streets and waited for me for a long, long time to be done. (*sniggers* must be the payback for being anti-town & leaving me to fend for myself earlier in the day...muahaha!) Judging from his expression, i think he is abit shocked. Lol. He looked like he can't come to terms with my short hair.
Anyhoo, yesterday, i set out alone, but i is not alone. I is got plenty of company. I is beri happy. Heee.
